On the last day of term 4 all our school community: children, staff, parents, governors and friends went on an Easter Experience Journey. During the morning the children worked in groups of children from all classes. Each group explored the events and meaning of part of the Easter Story, putting together a presentation for our journey.
Our Easter Experience Journey began on our top field with a welcome from Rev Jenny Taylor and everyone singing 'Give me oil in my lamp'. We then walked into the village hall where we reflected on Palm Sunday, Jesus washing the disciples' feet and the Last Supper. Our next place to pause was by our school orchard where we listened to and watched a presentation about the Garden of Gethsemane. Next we walked into our school hall where the children shared the crosses they had made with nails like the Coventry Cathedral Cross and thought about the Crucifixion. Finally we walked down to our village church where we celebrated the Resurrection. At the end of our journey every child enjoyed a piece of the chocolate tomb and some mini eggs given by Mrs Ashenden.
