Dear Parents and Friends,

Maypole & Country Dancing
Well done to all the children. The quality of the children’s performance was outstanding. Their enthusiasm, skill and concentration ensured an excellent display which I know everyone enjoyed. If anyone has any photos of the dancing that they could email to the school office, I would be very grateful.

Friends’ Cake Sale
Thank you to everyone who contributed cakes to our very successful cake sale after the Maypole and country dancing. A best ever total of £131.30 was raised – Fantastic!

New Playhouse and Garage!
Have you seen the new playhouse and garage in the playground? The Friends kindly purchased this wonderful resource for our children which Mr Maple (Olivia’s Daddy) and Mr O’Boyle (Samuel and Lucy’s Daddy) put up over the weekend. A huge thank you to the Friends and everyone who has supported their fundraising events. Thank you also to Mr Penny for removing the previous playhouse.

Ascension Day – Thursday, 17th May @ 1.30pm, St Michael and All Angels Church
Our special Ascension Day Service will be in St Michael and All Angels Church on Thursday, 17th May at 1.30pm. Families are very welcome to join us. Please remember we will be finishing school early at 2:30pm after the service. We have arranged for the taxis to take the children home straight after the service.

Family Service – Sunday, 13th May @11am, St Michael and All Angels Church
Thank you to Charlotte Wells, who played the descant tune for ‘When I needed a neighbour’ on the flute. I had lots of lovely comments from other members of the congregation. Well done Charlotte.

Parking
We are all aware that parking is very restricted for our school and many other village schools. We are very fortunate that the Village Hall Committee allow us to use the Village Hall Car Park. Please could I remind parents that it is important to ensure we park with consideration for Village Hall users and each other.

Makaton Signing School
In September our new Reception children will be joining our school. One of our new children uses Makaton, a combination of signs and speech, to communicate. All our staff and children are learning and using Makaton. Our aim is to use Makaton in all we do together; learning, collective worship and play. This is a wonderful opportunity for all our children to extend their communication skills and for everyone to demonstrate our vision:
‘Within a caring Christian community we enable every child to flourish and inspire a love of learning in all members of our community’

Medical Details
It is important for us to have up to date medical details for all children in our school. Recently we have found that some details have now changed. Please could all parents complete the slip provided to ensure we have up to date information for their child.

Please note change of date for KS2 Performance – now on 18 July, not 17 July.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Cockrean
Headteacher
