1. Feedback from The Friends: storage
Mr Crummack is going to organise a barn-style structure to store playtime and curriculum equipment; ‘muddy’ bank – the friends are going to level the bank and put down a surface suitable for the new storage structure; shelter – Mr Crummack is going to investigate putting a ‘sail’ shelter coming off Elm Classroom; chalking area – Mr Maple said it would be best to wait until the summer to paint the surface
2. Audit equipment – requests for more ‘hippos’ and ‘frogs’; repaint lines in playground; goals for football;
Actions: Mrs Cockrean to purchase more hippos and frogs;
Ask Mr Wyatt where the small goals are;
Ask Mrs Rigden for details of repainting the lines
3. Actions for Term 3 & 4 – it was decided that it would be good to provide opportunities for children to garden and investigate.
Actions: ask Mrs Maple if her mother could meet with
the group to discuss gardening opportunities;
ask Ms Palmer if she could meet with the group to discuss gardening opportunities.
4. AOB
It was decided to investigate the possibility of having a sandpit later in the year.
Reintroduce using cones to separate the football area from the rest of the playground
Harry asked for the wall at the bottom of the bank to be investigated to check it was safe.
Action: Mrs Cockrean to organise check
Investigate adding simple benches along the bank wall
It was noted that the kick-boards need attention
It was noted that hands of children new to the school needed to be added
Action: Mrs Cockrean to speak to Mrs McKeown
about kick-boards & hand prints
5. Date for next meeting: week beginning 1st March – date to be finalised after talking to Mrs Maple’s mother and Ms Palmer.
