Our Friends of Coombe Bissett School (FOCBS) meet each term to plan and run fundraising activities for the school. These events are aimed not only at raising funds but at providing great opportunities fort the children and families.
FOCBS have their own facebook page and a display board where they advertise their events. parents often use this to ask each other for ideas for places to visit with their child and for missing clothing that cannot be found in the lost property box.
Events include:
- 3x a year non-school uniform days
- Ice Cream Fridays in the summer
- 3x a year Disco
- Annual Bingo
- Annual Christmas fayre
- Annual Summer fayre
- Sale of Sales
- Visit from Santa
- Bags for schools
- Easter eggs for everychild
They have recently funded:
- Welly Boot shed - so all children can run around more at playtimes
- Tokens for our new behaviour system
- Trophies and Team Bibs for our termly Interteam Tournaments
- Books for each class for our reading spine - our new daily comprehension lessons
- Books to imporve our phonics reading scheme
- Leavers service gifts
- Subsidized class trips
- Pantomime for the whole school
