In Oak Class we learn our phonics through daily songs and activities. During our ‘Discovery Time’ continuous provision we then get to practise these skills and transfer our phonic knowledge into our writing. Here are some photographs of Oak Class enjoying their phonics sessions and Discovery Time.
The phonics scheme we use at Coombe Bissett Primary School is Song of Sounds alongside aspects of the governments Letters and Sounds. “Blending helps us read and write so sing this song all day and night!” The children love this song and approach and already in Autumn 1 sing this song at home to their parents, taking that learning and enthusiasm for reading and writing home.
