Here at Coombe Bissett we pride ourselves in the support we provide for all children with SEND.
We are a fully inclusive school - enabling all children to engage in the learning appropriate to their needs whether this is in class or through additional interventions outside of the classroom. An indivdual plan is written and regularly reviewed to monitor this provision and the progress of each SEND child. We work closely with external agencies to provide the support required and foster partnerships with parents.
We also recognise when a child's SEN needs require an alternative provision more suited to the child and will move heaven and earth to get the best provision the child needs supporting parents through this emotionally challenging transition.
Our SENCO is Mrs Newman. Each term the SENCO meets with teachers to identfy the next steps for the child, organises provision and external support, and reviews children's progress alongside the headteacher.
